Frequently Asked Questions

Animal Communication is exactly what it sounds like, I am able to “talk” with animals.  I am an intuitive and primarily receive messages through feelings.  In other words, if the animal I am working with has pain in its neck, I will feel a pain in my neck.  I also will receive messages through images, smells, and thoughts.

You may want to know why your pet seems particularly agitated or is behaving differently, you wonder what their likes and dislikes are, you want to find out what their life purpose is, or to find out if they have a message for you.  You may also want to speak to a pet that has passed on.

Feeding a Black and White Ruffed Lemur at the Millbrook Trevor Zoo

I love all animals and it does not matter whether they are a mammal, amphibian, reptile, insect, fish, bird, and so on.  I also enjoy working with wild/exotic animals as well as pets.  I have experience working with exotic animals when I was a caretaker for many different species of animals, such as red wolves, a bobcat, sugar gliders, lemurs, a scorpion, a Burmese python, and many more at the AZA accredited Millbrook Trevor Zoo.  I can also communicate with animals that are either alive or have passed on.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique used for relaxation, stress reduction, and also helps promote the body’s natural ability to heal at all four levels of the body: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.  It is the energy that is in all created matter; in Chinese it is “Chi” and in Sanskrit it is “Prana.”

What does Reiki feel like?

Everyone’s experience with Reiki is different, but the most common description I have heard is that the person felt heat.  People often describe feeling relaxed, calmer, and/or more grounded.

My experience when giving animals Reiki is that the animal will push or lean into my hands.  I also find that animals will present the part of their body that they have a pain or problem with.  Many animals enjoy receiving Reiki, but some find the energy too strong.  In these cases, I direct the energy towards them without physically touching the animal.

What can be treated with Reiki?

Reiki is not a substitute for medical care by a licensed veterinarian or doctor, and one should not delay in consulting a veterinarian or doctor for a medical problem.  Reiki works by removing the blockages in our bodies; it is these blockages that cause dis-ease because with blockages one’s life force cannot flow freely through the body.

What is a Distance Reiki Session?

Reiki is not limited by time or space.  Therefore the animal or person receiving Reiki does not need to be in the same location as the Reiki Practitioner.  A distance session is equally as effective as an in person session.

How many treatments should I have?

There is no set number of treatments needed and each animal or human will respond differently.  One session can have deeply relaxing and beneficial results.  With that said, having multiple sessions will often lead to deeper and longer lasting benefits.
